Billing Tele-Classes — Learning That Goes to Your Bottom Line!

We offer tele-classes on a variety of mental health billing topics. Each class is precisely focused so you can choose exactly the training you need.

A tele-class is a live, interactive training class conducted via a telephone “bridge line”. A bridge line is a telephone number that brings everyone together in an audioconference so we can hear each other just as if we were in the same room. Handouts and calling instructions will be e-mailed to you ahead of time. All you need is a telephone and a quiet room—no computer and no travel required! Tele-classes are a bargain compared to boring all-day seminars that take you out of the office and reduce your billable hours.

All classes are led by Jean Thoensen, president and founder of PsychBiller. Ms. Thoensen is nationally recognized for her expertise in mental health billing.

Please review our tele-class policies before registering. Tele-classes may be tax deductible as a business expense; ask your tax professional.

All tele-classes are also available in one-on-one tutoring sessions. Please contact us to discuss your training needs.

The Art of Verifying Benefits$40.00 - 1.5 hours

Mental health benefits are vastly different from medical benefits. Services often need to be preauthorized. Claims may be sent to a different address or even a different company. Copayments may vary based upon the service, the diagnosis, or how many visits the patient has had. Visits are often limited, and some services may not be covered at all.

The right information can make the difference between getting paid in full or not at all! We’ll teach you different methods for obtaining benefits, what questions to ask, and how to know when the answers don’t sound right.

Registrations are only accepted online. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, electronic checks, and PayPal.

Each person who wants to attend a tele-class must be registered. You may not pay for one person and allow several people to participate via speakerphone or multiple phone extensions.

You can register multiple people within an organization by changing the quantity during the checkout process. Please type all of the attendee’s names and e-mail addresses in the Special Notes box during the checkout process so we can make sure everyone gets the e-mail message with their handouts and instructions for joining the call.

No refunds will be given. If you miss a tele-class, you may reschedule once into another section of the same tele-class. If you know in advance that you won’t be able attend a tele-class, you may substitute another person to attend that same tele-class in your place. Please notify us by e-mail of the new attendee’s name and e-mail address so we can send them instructions on how to participate in the class.

We are committed to equal access. If you are hearing impaired, please let us know.
